Hey guys,
So this weekend I spent my days babysitting... so I guess I earned my physical activity points doing that..
But honestly, it's exhausting! I sat for six hours on Saturday and ten hours Sunday. But on Friday I had a great work out at the gym that left me a little sore on Saturday.
I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym this week :)
I have WISE tomorrow and I'm also meeting with my mentor, so I'll post again then.
- Rachel
AARGH! So I just wrote this really comprehensive and inspiring (?!) and detailed comment about our meeting today, Rachel, then flooey into the internet vapors it went. I'll be briefer this time. To recap:
ReplyDeleteThink about how you can infuse some variety into your journal entries:
-Think about what you are learning, about yourself physically and mentally
-Consider including research--maybe question of the week? IF not, remember your bibliography--maybe you wonder about shoes, about what foods are best pre and post run, about the most effective stretching techniques, etc. LEt yourself be guided by your interests--count as reserach the stuff you would be looking up anyway.
-Community contacts--how's this going?
Other sources: Runners' World, Fingerlakes Running, Nike+
To Do:
Continue with elliptical / running plan, but maybe consult a source about effectiveness
Talk to Mr. Mellander about Field Day 5K
Talk with family about the money question
Think some more about the plausibility of hosting / running a 5 K.
Maybe jot down notes about exercise--what you ate that day, how much water you drank, sleep you got, etc. to help demystify the noticings about good run vs. "bad run" days.
Finally, remember that today you said," I'm not a swimmer." I want you to remember that you may not be a swimmer YET--but that you shouldn't discount anything as possible....we talked about how the suffering of loved ones might fuel us on our toughest days!
Have a great week!
